Lots and lots of shots of vodka. Mixed with good pain pills.

Sounds like you may have an abscess or wisdom tooth pushing on another tooth (if you have these still). Feel around on your gum where the tooth that hurts is. If you feel a slightly soft spot on your gum it probably is an abscess and you need to call them back and let them know ASAP. If you do find this DON"T PUSH ON IT! That will only spill the infection into your system. You will need antibiotics before they can do anything if this is what it is.

If it is your regular dentist then they should be able to call in a script for pain or whatever else is necessary.

You may also try a heating pad, on low, on the affected area.

Hope you feel better soon. Toothaches are the worst.

Hugs,
Elvn

You can bite a real aspirin wwith the tooth, and hold it there to let it dissolve. Some will absorb into the tooth and may help.

Oil of cloves can be used the same way (most people don't have the oil but do have whole cloves you can bite)

These remedys will only work if the nerve is exposed.

Sometimes pain is relieved by distraction, if you don't think about it so much it may help.

Good luck!

take some of maximum strength anbesol. it is going to be expensive but if it is worth it, pour about (assuming it is on bottom) 1/3 to 1/2 the small bottle in your mouth and let it sit on the side that your tooth is on. it may get on tongue and doesn't taste good, and half your mouth may be numb for a while, but the more nerves that have pain receptors numbed around it, the better chance of pain relief. This may sound gross, but spit it back in a cup if you get tired of holding it there, and save it for later. (if you brush teeth and clean mouth, then reusing wont be gross, since it will be nothing but anbesol. It may SEEM gross, but can save you money. besides, is it worth helping the pain???

If you have some kind of infection, use Castor oil mixed with flax seed and activated charcoal powder. Make a paste with this and try to keep it in your mouth overnight. This will draw out the infection and the pain will stop. Even if the pain stops, go to the dentist on Monday.

If caused by a cavity, Red Cross Toothache Medication Drops, I hear work very well. They are OTC. That is if it is localized to one tooth as well. If a whole bunch of teeth are affected, it could be an infection (sinus or general). I'd see if you can get in tomorrow AM. Many dentists have emergency hours.

Oragel, Anbesol, or other topical pain-killers work wonders. Talk to your local pharmacist. In the meantime, keep rinsing with salt-water or mouthwash every so often. Avoid hot, cold, hard, sugary, or acidic foods. Don't let yourself go hungry because of the pain, though.

you may have a cavity or an absess....either way, they are not good. i feel your pain cause last year, i had a terrible toothache which occurred on a @!$^&#% friday, and i had to wait until monday to be seen. luckily, now i have a job with good benefits, and i'm soooo loving the fact that i can actually go to the dentist for regular visits and not have to worry about paying the entire bill. hope you get to feeling better :)

In addition to taking Advil LiquiGels (which work the fastest), sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain.

Ice applied to your face might also help.

There are topical pain relievers for tooth aches that can be purchased over the counter just about anywhere. They work pretty well. You just apply them with a cotton swab on the tooth and the area around it every few hours.
