Someone asked the same question of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke (10:29-37):

But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

Jesus replied, "A man fell victim to robbers as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half-dead. A priest happened to be going down that road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. Likewise a Levite came to the place, and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.

But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him was moved with compassion at the sight. He approached the victim, poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them. Then he lifted him up on his own animal, took him to an inn and cared for him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction, 'Take care of him. If you spend more than what I have given you, I shall repay you on my way back.'

Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers' victim?"

He answered, "The one who treated him with mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

Jesus is teaching us that everyone in the world are our neighbors including all Muslims.

With love in Christ.

What's wrong with having a Muslim neighbor? Are they not humans? Do Christians/Jewish/Hindus not do anything wrong? Why do you people make ignorant, generalized statements like this? A religion/culture or race does not make a person mad...the person's character is what makes him bad. You asking that means u're portraying hate towards other cultures..is that what your religion teaches you.

Does that command have a qualifier that says "if your neighbor believes the same as you do?" How we treat others is more about who we are than about who the other person is. Look, please, at Jesus' illustration about the Good Samaritan.

In the same way that Jesus taught in the parable of the Good Samaratin. Regardless of your "neighbor's" beliefs or lack thereof, you are to love that person as you love yourself and as Christ loved the church, putting his or her needs above your own. The Bible says that we are to see Christ in all people and treat them as we would treat Christ himself. Remember, what you do to the least of them, you do to Christ.

Treat your neighbor as a fellow human. Look past all else.

Peace,

Beki

Jesus said love every one even if they hate you or hurt you. So loving Muslims as yourself should not be hard. I am sure you know the story of the good Samaritan. Jews despised Samaritans and did not have association with them yet it was the Samaritan who came to the aid of the injured Jew.

I have two muslim neighbours they never killed me infact one was living here next to me for 15 years. Without his help i would have been ashes me and my family. Our house caught fire and we where all asleep. He broke the door and helped us out. The fire department said the house caught fire from a qas explosion in one of the restarnts in the basement. Without him me and my family would have been dead. All the other neighbours havent even cared to wake us or even call us, they where just looking at us. He also frequently gets us arabian food that they cook at their house. I live in LA.

It applys to everyone. Most Muslims are good people. don't look at what is happening in Iraq and lump them into the same group because they are not all the radicals that are killing people.
