Immigration issues are not bad, the problem that comes with it is the problem. Being mexican living in the united states, I feel more like an outcast because of this whole immigration reform. People are being targeted (maybe unwantedly) and what its doing is sparking racism towards groups like mexicans, cubans, puerto ricans, middle easterners. There are so many middle easterners here in arizona and I know most of them are citizens yet they get harrassed by people who practice ignorance. If we could open our hearts and not our mouths we would be able to see the good everyone has to offer because there is good in everyone and not everyone deserves to be mistreated or kicked out of the country.

England is overwhelmed with immigrants and the dwindling indigenous population is sick of it. There is a flood of English leaving the country. There is no effective border control, our whole infrastructure is at breaking point, house prices have been driven up, immigrants are willing to work for less than minimum wage, there are thousands of unqualified and uninsured drivers causing congestion on our roads, black teenagers are stabbing each other to death on London streets, the NHS is at breaking point, crime has risen, there has been no obvious positive effect of letting everyone in unrestricted, criminals included. None of which is racist, and people wonder why there are 'racial tensions'.

Our country was built on immigration...My great grandparents came here from Germany on the boats like you see in the pictures so I would not even be a US citizen if it was for Immigration. I feel that anyone looking for a better life should come here but should do it legally. I'm not so much worried about illegal aliens sneaking in to find work but drug traffickers and terrorists sneaking in.

Unfortunately, I think we have to have some type of quota system. Otherwise, the immigrants will break our economic resource "back". But I heard that officials are doing something which I think is insane.
If the parents came over illegally and they catch them after several years, they can send them back. But the children they have had in this country must decide whether to remain with friends or relatives or foster homes or go back with their parents. This is tearing families apart.

Illegal immigration above quotas designed to protect our schools and services is stealing education from our children in overcrowded and failing schools. It is also closing our hospitals and draining our services. We don't have 'extra' of this above what we need for our own, and our children's schools are their future.
Illegal immigration needs to stop, family reconciliation needs to be limited to spouse and minor children to make some room for those with special skills we need, and immigration needs to be limited while our schools and services recover. They can't pay their own way, and their better life has become too expensive, because they are too numerous and too poor, and we are the ones who pay for it.

my parents immigrated here from taiwan, so i have no problem with immigration. what really annoys me is illegal immigration. i hate how some illegal immigrants move here, and then US citizens end up having to pay more taxes.
this isn't really about illegal immigration, but another thing that pisses me off is how everything is bilingual (spanish, english), especially when you call toll-free numbers and you have to press 1 for english or "marque dos for espanol". chinese is the number one language in the world, and yet, you don't see everything translated into chinese.

I dont know many people who are against immigraton. Illegal aliens are a very different story and the vast majority of Americans would like to see them gone yesterday.

It has stirred up a culture of racism, intolerance, and hate.
It is very, very, sad.
Freehugs for everyone has provided some eye-opening links about clashes between different groups.
Hopefully we can some day look back and be thankful that we do not have to deal with hate, racism and discrimination anymore.
