Some people don't realize that this forum has adults also, but still sometimes if they don't agree with what a questioner - they start flaming or verbally attacking the questioner in such a cold-hearted and inconsiderate manner & they do not have an intelligent reasoning to back it up with. It's ok if you disagree with the questioner's point, but at least can't you do so politely and intelligently? You must realize that people here come from different countries and cultures & they feel very disheartened and offended by such ill-mannered attacks. Please, I beg you to just think about it.

I agree with you, I don't like the swearing and the very rude replies, it gets very depressing here sometimes, where is the love and compassion for one another?

It's nothing new, really, it's just that the speed of communication is so fast, and this format is so anonymous, that people feel free to state the first thing that comes into their mind, without the filter that polite society imposes on people in public. If the persons making such remarks were to be asked the same questions in a public arena, where people knew them and the answers given could carry an actual consequence, they would probably not give such opinionated bigoted responses.

Because religious beliefs are very personal to each person. When they read something that contradicts or questions their beliefs (polite or not) most people feel it is a personal attack. It is a matter of pride. They feel they have to defend their religion, but if people realized what you say, that people come from different cultures and countries, it wouldn't be so bad. No one is innocent from this, I've done it a few times if I feel I am being judged by people that do not know me.

Thanks for your question. I shall forgive the slight over generalisation!

You are not the first person to ask this. Probably comes down to the anonymity thing. Or the fact that R&S brings up some strong feelings and opinions in people.

That's part of life here. But hey, stick around, make a difference. Things might change!

i think it's funny when i answer a question and get thumbs down because i am a pagan, but the answer is correct lol

example - somebody asks what a pentacle is, i answer with complete truth and fact, but since they are not pagan friendly people, they give me thumbs down lol
