Read Ezekial 3..we are to warn people. To not warn them makes us responsible for their death. We have to listen to God. If God is urging you to confront your lover to turn from his/her wickedness; you are to obey Him. To not warn, is likened to being a watchman at the city gates, seeing an army coming, and not blowing the horn to warn the village of the danger. Now, you are not responsible for whether or not they listen, only to tell them. Remember, we are to do all things with love, not judgement it is not our job to judge; now, let me ask you something..you said your "lover"..I am inclined to remind you of to remove the plank from your own eye before you attempt to remove the sliver from your lover's. That enrages people more than anything, to be chastized by someone who has not corrected their own flaw. Look at what Jesus said to the religios leaders of His time; in Matthew 23. And remember, don't judge people, for the manner in which you judge them, you will also be judged. I pray you will seek the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your might.

This is what I do every day, I warn those who have been deceived by the church and the council. To turn to the Word of God.

I would say "Stop, lover, you're walking into certain death!"
And if that didn't work, I would try to distract her with a pint of Hagen-Daas.
