My husband and I have been married for 7 years and want to adopt ,is it legal to put adoption ads on websites like this one or perhaps in the classified ads on-line? We have tried our luck on the adoption forums and other adoption sites but we only get contacted by scammers from over sea's from those sites , thats why I thought it may be better to try to find a local person that cant keep the baby , soooo is it legal?

It would be against Community Guidelines to advertise for it on Yahoo!Answers. When I was in college I used to see them from time to time in the college newspaper.

Yes if you are working with an adoption attorney and are authorized to advertise, it is legal. You can put a classified ad in newspapers that accept adoption ads (not all do). You can also create your own website and promote it. Or you can sign up with parentprofiles.com. Don't limit your search to a local one, you need to consider other states and make your search as broad as you feel comfortable with.

I too have met up with many scammers and they do contact you any way they can. It's discouraging, but yet we keep on trying, hoping to make a connection with a special birthmom.
Good luck to you!

it's legal, you just can't sell your baby. i think any money that changes hands has to be for living expenses while pregnant, dr's bills, attorney fees...
adopting is a long hard process, and i've heard so many stories of heartbreaking scams over the internet, i wouldn't even consider trying to go that route. international adoptions can be cheaper and easier to get a young baby, but always go through a reputable agency.

Yes, it's legal. Have you tried adoptionprofiles.com?

My suggestion is for you to find a local, reputable agency to work with. They will be able to provide you and the potential birthparents counseling as well as weed out scammers. They will also conduct your homestudy if you have not already had one and been approved.

Good luck to you. I hope you're soon blessed with a little one.
