"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

1. Priest were "Old Testament" to be the mediator between man and God. And to offer up sacrifices for the sins of man.

Catholics preserve the priest hood
Protestants believe that Jesus took the place of the priests.

2. Pray to the dead (when you are dead you know nothing (Holy Bible)

Catholic pray to the dead
Protestants do not

3. In place of God/son of God

Catholics believe the Pope can add to, take away from or change the "Word" of God.
Protestants do not.

I was going to add that the Catholic worship idols/statues but I have seen some Protestants do the same with the cross.

That's enough for here I am sure others will add more

There are very few differences, actually, and most have to do with 'how' they worship, rather than 'what' they worship. I know, Catholics will be jumping up and down and claiming there are HUGE differences, and Protestants will likely say there are differences (although they won't be as adamant) but in truth, all believe in God, all believe in Jesus, all believe in the ten commandments etc.
Obviously Protestants don't believe that a Pope has to mediate between man and God, nor do they believe in the ritual of confession and the Pope-administered penances, but Protestants do believe in acknowledging their sins and in making reparation when possible.
But if you look at the two religions overall, there are more similarities than differences.

The belief in Mary being Queen of Heaven, conceived sinless and virgin mother of Christ, holy intercessor to the faithful's prayers to God... is an exclusively Catholic concept.

Actually, Drunk A, the Higher Church of England have the same belief in their Eucharist being the Body and Blood of Christ, through transubstanciation.

I know several; but the main one I see is most Catholics know so little about their faith and protestants are fairly knowledgeable about theirs. I don't want to sound critical, but Catholics seem to think just being Catholic is what matters. I know these things to be factual from very wide range of experience.

Catholics believe you need the church system that has been constructed in order to worship god. Protestants believe that you can worship god with out a church or pope by just reading the bible for your self.

I'd have to say the main difference has to do with the Catholic assumption that one can avoid hell through merits applied by the Church, versus the Protestant assumption of man's inability to merit heaven at all.

Catholics believe in praying to the Saints, and to Mary, in the hopes they'll put in a good word with god for them. They also believe in Confession and Communion.

Protestants don't.
