SO a part of the population thinks that he is his body and hence, will go old or sick and die and disintegrate.
The other part believes that he is spirit inhabiting the body and after the body dies, he will go on.
Myself, I can't say I understand death. But it makes more sense to me to think that I am consciousness and we will go on.
After all, where does the 21 grams go? (I guess you know that after death, the body gets exactly 21 grams lighter?)

Not everyone fears it Yahoo User "God," maybe you do, but most spiritual people understand death, as do I, and once you understand that death is not a mistake you won't fear it.
Death is only painful beacuse the body suffers the souls plans.
Death is scheduled, and when it's your time, you will go...and your soul will leave Earth, and travel into another dimension...where you will analyze that life and figure out which lessons you suceeded or failed at :)
Although losses in life are harsh and difficult, death is a part of real life and the spiritual life.

There is no death. Your existence is entirely defined by your perceptions. Thus, from your perspective (the only one that's got any effect on your consciousness) you will always be alive.
At the end of the film American Beauty, Kevin Spacey's recently murdered character narrates something to the effect of, "the last moment of your life stretched on into eternity." Like that.

No. I am living under the premise that living and dying go hand in hand. That my life is a chance to do something for someone that matters. Death is sort of an expiration notice that I can't quite read. I plan to be recycled.........to work things out better, each time I live. I think God recycles, and gives us time between lives to ponder each life. I don't even think that I am necessarily correct in all this. But, it makes my life easier to live, by believing it.

Im not quite sure what angle you wish me to answer from here, but I will have a go.
When a baby is in the womb, it has no idea what the outside world will be like. I have the assurance as a born again believer that when my body dies, then I will go to Heaven, however, for the unbeliever, they will be lost eternally.
We do not have a description of any of these, for the Bible says concerning Heaven, no eye hath seen, no ear has heard what God has laid up for those who love Him.
The Bible describes Hell as a place of everlasting torment - a lake of fire.

I do. It used to really upset me and make me upset, Now I know that it is a normal thing, everyone is going to die. Some sooner then others. I just lost my mother 4 months ago. It hurts and I miss her but I also understand that she is better now and in Heaven with Jesus. I know that I will see her again

I understand it superficially - physically dead and buried or cremated or in the morgue, or donated to science. Unfortunately, I am obsessed with death and always wonder about a possible afterlife.

I'll tell you what, once I've worked out understanding life, I'll get onto understanding death.
Best to take it one step at a time, I think.

No one can understand until it happen. but we can be sure it is not the end of the world! It is the way of another world that we could see the reason of our Evilness or Exactitude!

Death is a change in focus, from the physical, which is not our true state, to the non-physical, which is.
We do not die.
