No Christians are called to live a life of poverty, but to live a life attempting to further the will of God, and sacrificing anything that would stand in the way of this.

Not as I remember it - merely to remember the bit about rich men, needles and camels, and to give a hand to stranded travellers and their ilk. Mind you, the religious do seem to make a virtue out of a sense of guilt and self-flagellation for their sins, whatever that may be. It seems rather negative to me, where merely compassion, reasonable generosity, and critical intelligence would surely be appropriate, and enough. Sadly it seems the last is astonishingly rare. Good luck, if you believe in that too.

No of course not! The Catholic Priests and Nun's do take a vow of Poverty but no one else does.

Not even. Although many, either by misunderstanding what is in the Bible or by choice, have chosen this as a lifestyle.
Although, I repeat, my field of knowledge is not the Catholic church. That is a completely different system, entirely, because their rules of conduct and thought are already in place.
Hope I helped!

No, they are not. However, one has to be careful if they have too much money because it is easy to get caught up in worldly things and forget about God. I don't know the exact scripture verse but it says, Lord grant me enough that I may not have to steal but not enough that I will forget you.

Oh yes--and the rich man will find it as difficult as getting a camel through the eye of a needle to get into heaven!!!
Just think, all those wealthy fundies, money-grubbing church people and greedy ministers who are doomed, doomed I tell you!
