Hi my name's courtney and I'm a Y!A? R&S addict. I think I need a 12 step program for my addiction but I don't want the traditional 12 steps- I refuse to give myself over to a higher being. What should the Y!A? R&S addiction 12 steps be?

I'm not an addict but I'll usually pull up questions from the bottom section on the answer page. Seems like the r and s stuff keeps popping up. Some of the questions and many of the answers, usually by an aspiring preacher, get to be quite obnoxious. No twelve steps cure could be possible. Just take 2 aspirin and stop laughing at the stupidity.

There is (or at least was) a Yahoo Group called Answerholics Anonymous. They did not seek to cure their addiction, however, but to enhance their experience of it. So they don't need the 12 steps, just the 12 points associated with a best answer! (2 for answering plus 10 for being chosen best.)

Hello I'm Sèimerthyr, and I'm a R &S addict.

But if you check into 12 step programs, they can be modified on the higher being issue. You need to realize you are powerless to stop yourself from your addiction and turn to another.

We could report you for abuse and get your accounts deleted. Would that help? :-)

1. Admit that it has power over you
2. Rely on the power of the real world and your previous interests
3. Make amends to all you harmed via your addiction....
Can't think of any more at the moment:-)

I think you're correct--I feel it too!

An examination (and then rejection) of the 12 major religions of the world is in order.

Then, we should be able to get on with our lives!!!
