It's ok to cry - even at 16. Most 16 year olds just don't know that yet. Allow yourself to feel, you'll be way ahead of them.

Just take along a handkerchief! (;
It is a sign of maturity to be able to cry and Not feel ashamed of doing so! Grandparents are Very Special People! Why would you want to hide your feelings?

Perhaps you live in a culture that still has stereotypical expectations for men & women?

i am 14 and sometimes i get too much emotional when someone leaves. but i have never faced this thing, about which you are talking. i would have got in ecstasy if i were you, but never emotional, even if my grandfather(who is no more, he died in 1999), would at the moment come right before my eyes. i think you can be much more happy and boatsful and that way resist the tears but if they come its no bad, except for that shame for a 16 yo boy.

Anyone can cry, whatever there age is! You are glad to see them right? If you need to shed a tear or two-do it! Your Grandparents will cry too-I'm sure. Don't worry about something like this-okay? Have fun with your Grandparents during their visit.

i'm 23 and cry.. aint no shame in it..
expressing your feelings is normal. People believe that boys should cry but they do. so cry will be fine. everyone will understand and the chance that you will cry will be smaller. you just think you will cry because you will be overwhelmed with emotion, but the joy of seeing your g'parents again will probably not result in tears. and even if it does, so be it, say you got something in your eye!

if you cry i am sure your grandparents will feel the love that you have for them, its a stupid stereo type that men don't cry. to tell you the truth a know more woman who are attracted to men who cry then men who don't. don't worry so much about being embarrassed. Everyone has emotion.. and it takes a bigger person to show their emotion..

I think your are same kind of person like.Don't let your emotion burst out.If it does you would feel your self embarrassed.Don't even of the three that your grand parents were away from, if you do you would burst out with emotion.Be ware that you have to control your emotion, dont allow your emotion to control body.
Control your self.

I think your grandparents would not think badly of you for getting emotion at being with them again. Obviously you have a close bond with them and they probably feel the same way!
