I work in a small office, primarily processing web orders. My boss is a cool guy, but double checks EVERYTHING...I also just started about 3 weeks ago. No attendance issues so far, but I want to leave about 2 hours early. Any suggestions?

If you've only been there three weeks I think you would need a really good excuse. Otherwise don't do it.

Excuses To Finish Work Early

Your boss sounds like a Hawk who won't tolerate much nonsense. If you absolutely must leave work early, have someone call you at the office ( a friend) who can say that
1) if you have a pet - it is vomitting and should be seen by a vet
2) a family member is ill and needs a ride to the hospital

If you say you have a Doctors' appointment, he might ask for a note from the Doctor. You won't get away with leaving early too often from the sounds of your work environment, and it should really be something very important to you.
If you make this a pattern of behavior in the long run, I don't see you keeping your job for long.

Good Luck!!!!

Just ask him if you can leave early to run an errand that you can't get done on the weekend. If he is cool he will understand. Not everything is open on the weekends and if you work a 9-5 job then you are at work during regular business hours. Good luck!!!! Hope he doesnt hav a Y!A account

Perhaps if you ask your boss if you come in early to work or stay late at work to make up the time if you can leave 2 hours early on a particular day for a particular reason. You should be able to explain why you are asking him/her to allow this ... that doesn't mean going to the beach early on a Friday!

No attendance issues after 3 weeks? Whoop-de-doo. That's not really commendable, I'm afraid.
Why do you want to leave early? If it's legitimate, just ask. If you are just trying to get a head start on the weekend, suck it up and do your time.

just say that you have to take your kid, nephew, grandma (etc) to the doctor's office and the only available appointment was 2 hours before the time you finish work. tell him this a couple days before you want to leave early and ask if its alright with him.

Doctor's appointment. Tell him you've been waiting to get in to see a certain doctor and they just called with a cancellation, but you need to leave now.

By law he can't look into your medical records and the doctor's office can't provide him any info.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Say to your boss "I think 3 weeks is enough of this good impression malarkey. I'm leaving early." Don't be surprised if you get fired though.

Fake explosive diarrhea. Start going to the bathroom every few minutes. You ate something bad at lunch. Tell them it's ED. What, like their going to check? It will work.
