Hi everyone, Im writing a research paper for my history class which is based on the events and movements that created our world since 1500. Our topic/thesis can be anything wacky or even provocative but I can't think of anything. Any suggestions?? Remember, college level!

Provocative topic on a subject that's been around since the dawn of man: prostitution. Perhaps you can look into the progression of this most ancient of professions. I'd give particular focus on the 19th century where the concept of prostitution starkly clashes with the uptight values of Victorian society.

How mankind is endlessly fighting for his 'civil rights' sounds provocative to me. Guy Falks Day was pretty wacky, so was chaining ourselves to the White House Gates in the 1950's or riding in mixed racial buses form New York to Alabama so some YAhoo could set them on fire. Tenement Square ~~~ one young man facing a tank ~~~ that's as wacky as it gets.

Check out http://www.ClassTopic.com They have some great topics that I've used in the past. Each topic has three good sources to get you started on the research, too.

The Salem witch trials. Show the affect of hyper-religion on group mentality, and it's affect on modern world view,(i.e. gay anything and the religious right.)
