Blurred Vision at Birth, Was it my mother's habits?

Okay ever since birth I had blurry vision, and right now I'm wearing Glasses, but all my life I had blurry vision.

I was wondering what causes it because my mom told me she drank a little Alcohol here and there when she carried me for 9 months, and smoked a few times, but not a lot.

Is this what may have caused it?

I highly doubt it. It's all genetically inherited.

if all you have is blurred vision, i'm guessing it's just shortsightedness which is normally an individual trait not from anything done while pregnant. if you have any other symptoms, then i would think it might have to do with the alcohol. but fetal alcohol sydrome causes other things and it doesn't sound like that's what you've got.

Doubtful. There could be many causes for your vision problems, including being inherited, but it's highly unlikely that these two reasons would have caused your problems.

most likely it's hereditary.... Alcohol syndrome cause much more pronounced problems than blurry vision.

You are most likely just near or far sighted. Which is a problem for millions of people. No one "caused" it is just a fact or life. Get Over It!

People are just born with that sometimes. Do other people in your family wear glasses or contacts?

maybe. i would be really mad at my mom if she drank & smoked when she was having me.
