If in being both omnipotent and omnipresent... knew what Lucifer would chose to do with his existence. Thereby causing all the pain and suffering in life?

and if you were God... Would you have done anything differently?

I wouldn't have...

And again to the atheists...

Play nice kiddies... If you do not believe in God use something else as an example to get to the root of the question.

Like If the cloned Cow knew he would just crap out the grass anyway why would he eat it to begin with... Or something like that?

jason... I didn't ask if He was loving or benevolent... I said He is omnipotent and Omnipresent...

"I knew you before the foundations of the earth."

Why did he create evil then?

You my dear are what I call funny. I am an athiest, and everytime I hear the name Lucifer, it reminds me of a toothless guy I used to work with who said that was his nickname. I don't prefer to use the terminology " GOD or the DEVIL" I use "good and evil" or "yin and yang." The truth is, that without evil there can be no good and vise versa. We need one to measure the other.
Don't change for me girl, I love you just the way you are.

You seemed to really have been misled greatly by the deceivers. Lucifer means Morning Star. It is a title given to a man not to an angel and it is not evil. The name of Evil are, The Dragon, the ancient Serpent, the Devil and/or Satan. Read your Book of Revelation 20:1-3 and you will see that Lucifer is not mentioned there.
In King James Version and Catholic's LatinVulgate, the Book of Isaiah 14:12-to 17calls on the name LUCIFER as the one who would like to "sit enthroned on the mount of the assembly". Verse 16 says he is the "MAN" who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble.
In other Bibles, Lucifer's name was changed to "MORNING STAR". Son of the Dawn(Morning).
Son of the Dawn (Morning) means he is a chiid of a young woman, Dawn stands for early age of man.
Matthew 26:64,"yes,it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
Revelation 22:16" I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the "BRIGHT MORNING STAR."
Before you ask again that kind of question, read the Book well.

Honestly, only God can answer this in absolute truth. However, his omnipotence and omnipresence are not to be questioned because Lucifer got beside himself.

God knew I was going to do everything I have done, yet he created me and all of the rest of us. He, as I was taught, created Lucifer and endowed him with music in his vocal chords; Lucifer was rather handsome and felt he ought to be God since he had such exquisite features and was a sight to behold. He fell in love with himself! His express role was to sing throughout the heavens; to serenade so-to-speak.

We all have roles to play. God will not share His throne with any other god or demi-god or self-appointed god. Lucifer got a record deal and lost it. He looked around his 'crib',saw all he had and thought to himself, "Why should I obey Him? I can be Him!" The rest is history.

Many of us do the same thing. We look at our reflections in the mirror and forget that we are not in control; that we are flesh - fragile and easily replaceable.

I cannot answer the second question since I cannot see into God's mind but I do believe He knows best - even when I do not quite follow it all - so I have to believe also that I would not have done it any differently.

I am atheist--but objectively speaking--if I were god--it would be to give man the chance to choose between them.I think a utopian-existence would be awesome--where evil thoughts and feelings were non-existent.Isn't that what heaven is supposed to be?Why should we not have such here?Mistrust, different religions teaching that theirs is correct and is the path to heaven.I really do think it's a fantastic angle to support atheism, though. It's a terrible experiment on billions of dead through the ages for a just creator to have pondered, with full knowledge of the result.Verrry deeep thought.

I believe that God doesn't create evil. He gives guidance to everyone but those who choose to go the wrong way then they can't be helped. God is all Just and Fair. He gives equal guidance to everybody. Now why did He create him was to test his creation, the humans. If Lucifer didn't exist then hell wouldn't have to be created. It is a test for mankind.

I believe in God but do not believe Lucifer is responsible for all of the pain and suffering in life. Each and every one of us is responsbile for our own pain and suffering, and will have to continue facing it until we become accountable.

Satan/Lucifer only tempts. This was his job, as assigned by God. He doesn't make a move without God's approval.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

If a story has no villain, it's not much of a story, you know. There is no conflict, it is boring, and God would not write a boring story when he's the one that is going to read it. To make the metaphor more direct, say script writer or video game programmer. Scriptwriter if you believe in predestination; video game programmer if you believe in free will.

It's classic good cop/bad cop.
Satan plays the bad cop and does all of Gods dirty work.
For the record, Lucifer and Satan are two different angels.

The truth is that every myth or fairy tale needs a hero and needs an antihero. Both Satan and Judas got stuck with crappy roles in the literary, ficticious masterpiece.
