I went to KFC in Holyoke, Massachusettes on North Hampton Street in the KMART plaza...I got a chicken breast and when I started to pull apart the chicken I found this coiled up thing that looked like a brain! I am not quite sure what it was but it cured me of KFC for a long time!

Bugs.
1.) Was having a home-cooked fish stew (it was a whole fish). When my family finished one side of the fish and turned it over we saw a roach floating in the sauce. Had no idea how it got there. My paternal grandmother made the stew and she kept her kitchen scrupulously neat. This was not such a bad memory for me as i didn't like fish at that time and so didn't take a bite.
2.) Another home-cooked meal. This time Chinese style soup made with lots of a type of dried veg which i can't name. It used to be one of my faves but that time i had finished half a bowl when i went into the brighter part of the house. Under the light i saw that ALL those small things floating there were bugs and not bits of veg. i think 70% of what i thought to be veg was actually bug. Ewwwwwwww. Apparently my maternal grandmother who made the soup had gotten a bad batch of the veg and her failing eyesight didn't help things. It's now more than 10yrs since the incident and i haven't ever been able to bring myself to touch that soup again.

My son bit into some shredded bbq pork, that was a prepared meat that was bagged, and you just had to boil the bag in a pot of water. There was glass in it! I called the company and they refunded the money, but really couldn't understand where the glass came from , as they said there is none anywhere along the assembly line.
Also, the tip(finger)of a rubber glove was once on a fish stick, under the breading. Very chewy fish! And I'm sure it was a fish stick, not a finger, THANK GOD!

My firstborn child...
Just kidding.
Okay, this isn't gross, but it was rather odd. I used to keep all of my flours (I usually keep 6-10 different kinds on hand) and rices in a rubbermaid tote...no room in my cupboards. Anyway, I made dinner rolls one day (sifting not neccessary!), couldn't wait to try them. Took them out of the oven and almost broke a tooth. My kids had gotten into the tote and put rice in every single bag of flour in there...Had to sift out seven different bags lol.
My uncle was drinking a budweiser from a can once, poured it into a glass, and out came a rat's tail with it. I'm grateful I wasn't there to witness it.
Anyone remember the Hershey's maggot story from 10-15 years ago? Here's the only thing I can find leftover from it now. It was a big deal before the internet lol.

I was drinking a coke one day at home and took a swig and some slimy slug like thing slid right into my mouth. Yuck. I couldnt drink soda out of a can for years after that. We figure it must have been congealed lube from a machine or something.

I was about halfway through an order of popcorn chicken at KFC one day when I noticed a ******' bug crawlin around the bottom of the container. And that's the third time KFC has been mentioned on this list. hmm

Opened a pack of individual size fig newtons...started chewing...there was a chunk of glass in it! I mailed it back and got coupons for free newtons. Go figure ~ like I'd want to try my luck again!
