"And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again."

odd way to perform miracles, wouldn't you say?

Also:
"When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the LORD. Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boy's body grew warm."
2 Kings 4:32-35

Not at all.

All that is being described is healing by "laying on of hands". What is it that makes you automatically try to attach some less than honorable intent to it.

If you have ever looked into Reiki, Qi Gong, or any other art form that involves healing through the manipulation of "Chi" (our life force) you'd understand that re-animation would most likely involve direct contact (or very close proximity) at critical nodal points (meridians) between the one directing the energy and the one being revitalized.

The very first CPR to perform in old testament. It's cool ah, Elisha knows how to perform CPR.

whats to feel uncomfortable for...If you was unconscious and need mouth to mouth I don't think feeling uncomfortable would be on your mind all u will want is to survive. It is only uncomfortable if you DO NOT understand the word.

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

No, I don't. The Greek word for "Spirit" is "pneuma" - which can mean "breath" or "air" as well. God breathes life into Adam. Jesus "breathed on His Disciples and said "receive ye the Holy Spirit".

When Catholic Priests used to baptize babies....the ceremonial called for them to breathe three times onto the baby.

All very symbolic of God's Life Giving Breath (pneuma)

maybe but to the wicked all they see is wicked, to the upright they see the bright side

the most uncomfortable to me as a Jew was Isaiah's prophecies saying the Messiah would be God to die for our sins, and then in John 3 repent of your sins ask Jesus in and be born again, but I did it and now I am truely happy heart and soul and Jesus is my best friend.

There could actually be medical reasons why this worked.

For instance, covering the boy would have made him warm.
It would have also pushed his blood into the most vital places.

Hard to say how it would have helped without knowing what had first happened to the boy.

If anyone feels uncomfortable reading this, it is due to the "deciever" who perverts the acts of our Creator and giver of Life.

Hello acid_zebra, hope all is well.

The OT prophets were unusual. God chose unusual folks to speak for him. The symbolism is clear however. It points to the death and resurection of Jesus.

The bible is full of uncomfortable things. I'm a little upset about the mass murder and gruesome death, myself, but I admit this always creeped me out, too.
