I can see an escalation during the um 'process' which leads to abrasive/fun use of open hand spanking etc. but it seems some have the "rough" thing to the point where it makes me question ... or am I just utterly clueless when it comes to sex because of my general lack of experience?

There are many different examples of "rough" sex. There's the biting/scratching roughness from losing control during the heat of the moment to a spanking during doggie style to the roughness of BSDM-type activity. Speaking only for myself, I like it all at different moments. Of course the rougher you get during sex, the more you have to trust your partner as you don't want to actually hurt your partner. Communication has to be very open during those encounters.
To those who would wonder, there is a fine line between pain and pleasure. Any of these types of roughness is testing the boundaries in a way. And all are just different expressions of passion.
I'm not going to say I only like it rough because that's just not true. There are many times I like it soft and sensual, taking time to linger and enjoy.

Everyone is different on what they like. There are a lot of women that like it more rough than others. Keep in mind the extent of what you are wanting. If you want a woman to be completely submissive and let you do as you please you have to keep in mind that there may be trust issues that are involved. Would you want someone to tie you up and then not really know if they may leave you there? Or not know if the other person will take it farther than what is wanted and end up with unwanted brusing or injuries. Yes, I do like it when a man can take control and make me completly submissive, but I have to know that i trust him to know when it is time to stop.

I am a girl and i can tell u this. i am a virgin but i wouldnt like rough sex. i dont like anything rough...but Girls that i know will go to a certain limit but once u have passed that limit its no fun. I would go to a certain limit.and I dont think u should go smack your B****up that is for sure. that may lead to problems....

Yeah if the woman's turned on enough (foreplay!) then it's great, but not too rough - not too rough with anything really.. including... er......... "thrusting".... because it can get painful. It depends on the woman. Read the signals she's putting out when you do something. If not, then laugh about it later. Or straight out ask her what she likes.
