I do not have my Wageworks expenses automatically deducted from my paycheck. I buy the commuter checks each month from our employee service office and buy my train tickets with these checks. How should I get the tax benefit of this program? Thx.

Commuting expenses are not a deductible expense for the Federal Tax return

Commting expenses aren't deductible on your federal return. Some places have discount passes set up that you can purchase through employers and get a break on the cost of the passes. If you don't participate in that, you don't get the break.
