I gained a few LBS more than I want to weigh so I started an exercise routine. Eating healthy, taking my dog for a lot of walks, and weight machines at the gym. I have noticed a pretty big change. I have dropped 1-2 pants sizes and I can feel muscles in my legs forming. BUT when I step on the scale it says I have only lost 2-3 lbs in these past several months. How come I see a difference and obviously there is a difference but according to the scale there isnt much change?
Also anyone have any ideas on how to get my arms thinner? Any good arm exercises?

Scales don't necessarily tell the truth. You are doing weights, which means you are putting on muscle weight (as muscle weighs more than fat). Don't let the scale discourage you. If you are dropping sizes and inches, then you are making progress. Go based on how you feel and how you want to look.

Doing arm exercises won't make your arms smaller but rather tone and deveop muscle (depending on the exercises you are doing). As you lose fat, your arms will shrink too. If you want to just tone, do push ups, tricep pushups etc. If you want to build muscle, do bicep curls, tricep curls etc. Here's a website below with all kinds of exercises:

Firstly, muscle weighs more than fat, so of course your scale will show that you weigh more as you exercise because the fat is turning into muscle. Secondly, weight loss has a lot to do with your individual metabolism. Quite simply, if its in your genes to be thin...then youre gonna remain thin (that is unless you constantly overindulge in foods high in calories and dont get any type of exercise) and if its in your genes to be overweight, then so be it. The body is a complex piece of machinery....you must know how much you can consume before the weight starts building. In the meantime, drink lots of water, becojme a little more active, and eat right. If youre at a gym now, the trainers there should be telling you these things, and if they are not, then change gyms and enroll in one who has personal trainers or at least people who are knowlegeable.

You are loosing your body fat, but gaining muscle weight. That is what you want, it's healthy!! In order to get your arms thinner try pushups, get on a schedual and do as many as you can a few times a week. If youre up to it try setting aside a time each day to do as many as you can. Remember, while doing pushups, if you want to see improvement then you must do it right! If pushups aren't your thing, than try lifting free weights. You can learn how to do this at some of the sports clubs or even at school, if you are attending. Good luck!

dropping weight does not "replace" you... however dropping weight actual does help to spice up self belief, it rather is frequently any incorrect way around. you need to replace to shed pounds. Like, attitudes to foodstuff, flow, you very own self photos and the style you think of human beings see you until eventually now you may as nicely lose a pound. It a brilliant super deal because of the fact this is not fantastically plenty fat. you need to ask "Why do i ought to shed pounds?" "What surpassed off until eventually now I placed the burden on?" "why do I consume what I consume and the quantities I consume" so on etc. You do finally end up residing in a distinctive way, in a exceptional way :) You get to a place or time on your life the place you're so disillusioned with the way issues are, that some thing's have been given to alter! At that 2d, you start to look inwards besides because of the fact the exterior and that's what triggers all varieties of issues to take place, like weight help. in case you haven't any longer replaced some thing on your way of thinking and you do no longer take action, no longer something happens, so weight reduction is a symptom or desireable factor result to a shift in perception or approach or the two. Then, as an further benefit, the burden help in itself greater boosts self esteem :) the terrific places to start are in Dr Phil's e book "the terrific Weight answer" study Dr Phil's e book and stick to his plan, and don't cheat, you will only be cheating your self, you will under no circumstances sense sorry approximately doing some thing good you, yet you will sense sorry approximately no longer having an truthful pass at it. And Geoff Jowett's BodyTrim gadget - this is not a weight-help plan, it rather is a instruction manual and motivator. you're able to do it :)

Muscle weighs more then fat. So the more muscle your building, the more fat your burning, but its very possible to only drop a few pounds or stay the same. Remember, "weight" is different then fat. so don't measure your success by what the scale says, if you feel better, and you see a difference, your reaching your goal right?

All I can say is wow, that's amazing. That means you have lost fat, but gained muscle in it's place. Muscle is more dense that fat but heavier, so you can imagine you will look slimmer even if you don't see a big change on the scales.

If you want thinner arms, you can try yoga or pilates.

Take care : )

Muscle weighs a lot more than fat, so it's easy to get smaller without actually losing much weight at all. Like, my mom, she went from a size 10 to a 2 by running, and only lost 10 pounds. By exercising, you are converting fat to muscle, which weighs heavier, but you are also losing fat, which makes your weight overall go down slightly. but it sounds like you're doing a good job!
congrats on your success, though! It sounds like you've worked hard to get healtheir, and that takes a lot of discipline :)

The reason this is happening is because you lost fat, but gained muscle. This is normal AND healthy. Just use the same concept with your arms, lift light weights to decrease the fat in the arms and increase healthy looking muscles.

It's because muscle is denser than fat. You've gained muscle and gotten rid of the fat, so you're smaller and healthier even though you weigh about the same.

Imagine a pound of, say, popcorn and a pound of meat. The meat will take up way less space than the popcorn.

you are replacing fay with muscle therefore you will not see the #'s change.and because muscle weighs more than fat then you will weigh some more because of what you are doing. i do bench dips, and take cario and kickbxing classes. the kidckboxing class uses your arms almost non stop and makes then leaner and gives you upper resistance.plus taking that class-kickboxing is a good work out in itself.
