Bottom line- engineers draw up the plans, techs follow them.

If you have the schematics drawn up and you know they work, see a tech. If you need help with the schematics, see an engineer.

There are, obviously, exceptions, but that is the general rule.

some significant universities (Texas A&M includes concepts) grant BS levels in the two electric powered Engineering and electric powered Engineering technologies. The EET degree is an entire bachelors degree, and that's interior the college of Engineering, yet makes a speciality of a extra palms on application curriculum (identifying on aspects to place collectively in a device - say identifying on opamps and transistors to layout a definite board) as destructive to the extra theoretical electric powered Engineering curriculum (a thank you to layout an op-amp). those levels (reckoning on the section if concentration in electric powered Engineering) are plenty closer than what you're speaking approximately. An pals degree in digital Engineering technologies is possibly to be extra concentrated on being a lab technician - a thank you to apply/diagnose/restoration a bite of equipment it is already been built/offered as destructive to truthfully engaged on the creation and layout. One extra theory to contemplate is that regularly electric powered Engineers choose some person-friendly awareness of what an EE tech might do just to do their jobs. while one in all my boards breaks at artwork, I might desire to a minimum of be attentive to adequate to choose what went incorrect so i will the two replace it or have it replaced. that's barely an opinion, however the varieties of issues you're able to do with a BS degree are plenty extra diverse and distinctive, because of the fact the previous answer states, there's a ultimate choose for EE Techs interior the artwork tension, and from a numbers point of view there are assorted jobs for the two fields.
