I hear people talk about all the contradictions in the bible and it occurrs to me that they have a very shallow understanding of what the bible teaches...

Would you give a cursory glance to a Physics textbook and then dismiss the entire science of Physics based on one or two principles that you don't understand how they fit together?

If not, then why do it with the Bible and religion?

While I agree that the "Biblical contradictions" thing is silly, I think you're also missing the point.

First of all, are you suggesting that people who claim that the Bible is "the Word of God" understand it better than those who don't? That's simply false: the believers simply choose to make an active effort to ignore the facts.

Secondly, some people claim that the Bible IS the "infallible Word of God". Those contradictions ARE a perfectly valid critique of that position. If the Bible contradicts itself - and it does - then it is not "infallible" (the reason I think it's silly to point out the picky little contradictions is that there are MUCH more important and obvious falsehoods in the Bible).

Thirdly, we often hear these "you just don't understand" or "you don't know" arguments from people who never point out exactly what it is that we don't understand or know. Imagine if I insisted that there are more letters in the English alphabet than the ones that you know. Wouldn't you want me to point to the ones you were missing? If we're ignorant of something and that's why we disagree with you about the Bible, shouldn't you be able to point to what it is that we're ignorant about? Yet you can't. You simply use the "you don't understand" argument as a substitute for your inability to defend your position re. the Bible. That's simply intellectual dishonesty.

Wow, these responces are just drilling your point in aren't they!

I hear alot of people talking about the "countless contradictions in the Bible", but when asked to name one, they never seem to be able to.

You also touched on another issue of great importance. Most of the people who claim evolution as their faith, don't understand the theory, the inherent problems that accompany it, and the laws of science that it breaks. Essentially, the took a peek into a physics book, hear a teacher say, "Believe this or you're out-dated and foolish." and now they obey without question.

There still haven't been any responces to my challenge for actual (empiracle) evidence that "unquestionably points to evolution". I didn't even ask for proof, just a shred of evidence that supports evolution more than anything else - and no-one can give me one!

The fact is, most atheists and agnostics are arguing against something that they would "just rather it wasn't true". Afterall, if it is true, they are responsible for their actions - they would need to feel guilty - they would be accountable. So they deny it. Rather than putting their faith in a loving God, they choose to have faith in a psuod-science disguised as facts.

I submit to you atheists, you see evidence because you choose to see evidence. You cling to whatever scraps the "scientific community" will throw you, while all the time, paving the road to Hell for the next generation.

Pat yourselves on the back; and when you see Satan, tell him I said hello.

You mean like how we are told in genesis 1 that the order of creation is vegetation, animals, then men & women equally. Then we are told in Genesis 2 the order is vegetaion, Adam, animals, then Eve? Which one are we supposed to believe? Such confusion cannot possibly be of GOD. Moses did not have a clue who GOD is.
