Some christians seem to have a real problem with atheists pointing out the illogical aspects of their faith.
They wonder why we see it as being important to constantly question their beliefs and ask why we don't leave them alone.
Do they not understand that it bothers us when the most powerful man in the world says that god told him to invade Afghanistan?
Do they not understand that we want our children to learn science in the classroom and not religious dogma that is claiming to be science?
Do they not realise that religion discourages freedom of thought?
Yes, you guys are free to have beliefs, but I reserve the right, and always will, to be critical of them. I care too much about my childrens' future not to.

I'm not commenting about Osama Bin Laden or Afghanistan. I'm commenting about Bush saying god told him to invade.

Faith has illogical aspects by definition. It is the atheists failure to understand this that makes atheists who keep pointing them out so annoying.
Who is "the most powerful man in the world"? A couple of decades ago, that question would be easy to answer. More and more it is looking like that position is going to be up for grabs very soon. And I don't mean just because there is a US election coming.
There are many Christians who do not want their children taught *any* dogma, including scientific dogma such as evolution as proven fact.
When I was in an organized religion, it was one that encouraged freedom of thought. And now that I am following a largely self-organized spiritual path I am finding my thought processes improved by being able to much better access the intuitive as well as the logical parts of my brain.
I have beliefs and faith and your criticisms are always welcome as long as they are actual, thought-provoking criticisms and not just poking fun.
Yes, the idea that all human interactions should be based on love and forgiveness is a truly dangerous one to outmoded power structures based on greed and fear.

When will Atheists realize that they're peddling dangerous ideas?
Some Atheists seem to have a real problem with Christians pointing out the illogical aspects of their lack of faith.
They wonder why we see it as being important to constantly question their lack of belief and ask why we don't leave them alone.
Do they not understand America was attacked and Afghanistan is a threat to our national security?
Do they not understand that we want our children to learn religion in the classroom and not Atheists dogma that has no foundation.
Do they not realize that Atheism discourages.
Yes, you guys are free to have beliefs, but I reserve the right, and always will, to be critical of them. I care too much about my children's future and well being not to.

First of all you have been ill informed - President Bush NEVER said that God told him to invade Afghanistan or any other country!
And secondly - Are you even a citizen of the United States? IF YOU WERE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES YOU WOULD KNOW THAT IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO TEACH RELIGION OR TEACH ANYTHING ABOUT GOD IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN THE USA! THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN THE UNITED STATES TEACHES EVOLUTION AS "FACT."!
I have noticed that more people from the UK and (elsewhere?) Where they teach religion IN THEIR public school systems- Mistakingly Accuse the United States for doing this same thing.... AND THE USA DOESN'T TEACH RELIGION IN THEIR PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS! At least get your facts straight!

So, what are you going to do if your children decide that want to learn more about God? What if they become CHRISTIANS???? *trembles in fear*
Just because some people are abusing the idea of religion (ie: God told me to murder my family) doesn't make us all bad. How are Christian idea dangerous, when God is supposed to be about love?
I went to Christian grade school and High School. We learned Science in science class, and Religion in Religion class. We were taught about evolution. In fact, I believe in Evolution, but I feel that God created everything, and everything started evolving after that. My point is, if a Christian school teaches the Theory of Evolution, then a public school should have to teach the Theory of Creationism.
It is up to your children what they want to believe. I just hope they make the right choice.

Bush didn't say "God made me do it" did he?
And, where I'm from, I have a Buddhist teaching my son evolution.
Religion does not discourage freedom of thought. Most MD's are religious and are dealing with the sciences all day long.
Yours just like mine is nothing more than an oppinion.

make clean a factor please; 'think of for themselves'; Which, as in do no longer pass by ability of human beings's 'think of so's, or to pass by ability of 'Christ's say so's in this life in the international? there are a number of ability avenues to this concept 'think of for themselves'. with out 'thinking for oneself'; ones ideals and movements become constrained to the speaker's communicated wisdom. One can be constrained to settle for 'incorrect issues' the speaker has 'time-honored' as much as that factor. although, proscribing oneself (thinking) to Christ's sayings are advantageous as one sees a granduer view, and likewise may even see lots of the 'issues' that DO EXISTS and are dividing 'Christianity' (Catholic, Protestant, and Mormon) immediately worldwide. One can also have a worldwide generational attitude, extremely than a 'my little international now' attitude at recent. What a distinction!!!!!!! (as an occasion; i will see why guy until eventually now the flood seem to generally stay to 900 + years; now we expect of one hundred years previous is 'doing some thing suitable'.

Religion causes ultimate freedom of thought. The whole Christian religion is based on choices. "Choose you this day who you will serve" You can think and follow anything you want, but you only have two choices for eternity. Heaven and Hell are real, and we want to let everyone know that because we care. Criticize us, but we'll still move forward because we have Truth and that trumps your "logic"

A true christian should know; there is only one judge and they will judge you and no one else on YOUR life. So if you hold that true; it does not matter what those around you think. It is our own journey to death. We need to make it as good as we can. When we die, only then do we see the truth.

First, God probably did not tell Bush to invade Afghanistan. Second, what is the problem with also teaching creation? Third, Jesus is the Truth. He is the only way to salvation. You can believe anything you want, you have your freedom of thought, but that doesn't mean you can disobey God.
