It's all about the energy flow. This can be shown by using an electroencephalogram. Outside of the head, the mechanism of the energy transference is not understood.
Note that prayer = meditation = positive thinking. The terms are interchangeable.
There's enough circumstantial evidence to give validity to the theory that prayer (or whatever you want to call it) works. In time we will probably understand exactly how. Once we do we will probably then understand how to do it effectively, and amazing things could be achieved.
Fortunately we are unlikely to succeed in praying for bad things to happen since "bad" thoughts seem to be contrary to the mindset needed to maintain meditation, although diversity means that some people will be able to achieve this.

Yes. God answers prayers, but maybe not on your time. I believe this. I have prayed before and asked God to show me a sign and He has. I may not get the sign everytime, but that doesn't mean he doesn't hear us. Sometimes you receive His sign if you are struggling with your belief and He assures you He is listening. Continue to pray. God speaks to all languages.

Yes there is proof that God answers prayers. The proof is that lots of people get what they pray for, sometimes. When they don't get what they pray for, that means God is trying to teach them a lesson.
Another proof is that in every war and every football game where both sides pray to God for victory, He always grants the prayer of one side or the other. Except of course, for when it's a tie game or the two warring sides destroy each other. When that happens it means God was testing their faith again.
If God doesn't answer all your prayers, that means you're not praying hard enough.

Sure praying is real. Its the omniscient being at the receiving end that is not real...
All these people that claim God answers prayers...are wrong. Scientific study performed in double-bllind format, have yielded absolutely ZERO evidence of prayer assisting open heart surgery patience, and in a control group, they actually found a negative correlation, in that this group had HIGHER complications!

The world of the spirit is infinite and undifferentiated. Our prayers do not move it to tears nor seek to help us in any way more than it already has. However, when we pray, we open ourselves up to that infinite spectrum, and we realize the answers inside of us, by being truthful and honest with ourselves.
It is futile and pointless to pray for things, it is only useful to pray for understanding, that is the way to cope with all material losses. And as for happiness, there is nothing more touching and sweet than a mind at ease and a conscience free of confliction.
This is what prayer does.

The brain puts out an Alpha signal when thinking, but the frequency is so low, that scientists can't pick it up on an instrument, like you can a radio signal. So praying is phyisically real.
I find a lot on this site, the answer is slapping you in the face, but people are just to blind to see it.

I've always felt the God helps those who help themselves. And as such prayer should be to the tune of asking for strength and willpower to overcome obstacles in your life.
I don't feel it is productive to ask that problems or illness be magically erased away for instance. Or pray to win a sports event or to get a car.
Prayers should not be selfish either.

Yes God answers prayer. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes the answer is no and sometimes the answer is wait. God answers every prayer. It may not come in the form of how you prayed it but God does answer in His way, not ours. God has answered every single one of my prayers

There's no gods to listen to prayers, but relaxing, focusing, positive thinking and the placebo effect all helps.
And I'm pretty sure Jesus only speaks spanish/mexican.

God does not "speak" in actual words but God understands you when you pray in any language.
God does not always give you exactly what you ask for, but everything that you need.
