The Ranger uses what is called a "Carrier Bearing" about mid ways of the Drive Shaft. You will need to unbolt it and the four bolts that hold the shaft to the Rear Axle/Differential, then slide it out of the Transmission. But, VERY sure the truck wheels are scotched or it on jack stands secure so it not roll when the shaft removed. Also, I not sure it matter but the manual says to mark the front of the shaft how it come out of the transmission. But, I think that not matter.
The rear U-Joint is Pressed in and can be hammered out with anything of proper size. I use a Vise to press the new U-Joint back in.
The pictures may help you see what under the truck, you should buy a Repair Manual at Auto-Zone about $15 or any parts store.

will be an mistakes contained in the PATS (Passive Anti-robbery device). in case your key has a touch letter S on one area of it, it has a PATS. in case you do, do this to ensure no matter if that's what it really is: flow to start up the truck and note the "robbery" mild. If it is going out once you turn the ignition, it would start up. If it would not, yet rather flashes, you want to have it examined. Take it to a community Ford broking and characteristic them run some codes on it. the most important would want to be reprogrammed, or, if that would not artwork, a sparkling key altogether (the chip will be undesirable). Sorry if that's no longer the precedence!
