There is no such thing as a "Muslim" name. All early Muslims in Mohammed's time were converts and they did not change their names (e.g. Bilal [an Ethiopian name] or Salman [a Persian name] etc.). Having Arabic names do not mean that they are Muslim names. There are *many* Christians with *Arabic* names. To give you a different example, a famous Muslim and one of Mohammed's companions name was Umar, who used to be idol worshipper and guess what? None of them changed their names when they converted to Islam.
Mohammed only recommended someone to change their names *only* when their names signified something incompatible to the Islamic faith. For example, if your name is "Abdul Uzza" which means "slave of Uzza" and Uzza is a name of a goddess. So, this name signifies something contrary to the Islamic faith. Only in those circumstances, Mohammed recommended that someone changed their names.
