I agree with your last paragraph 100%. I love hearing English spoken with different accents. However, working in a business that has employees all over the world, I've sat in many meetings, talking to people who speak fluent English with accents so thick that you can only guess what they're trying to say. I'm saying this and I have much more exposure to foreign accents than most Americans and STILL have trouble. Accent-reduction also includes word choice and placement to help people be well understood.

No,No,No.
You can't do anything if you don't have absolute pitch. Only people with absolute pitch don't have accent.

And secodnly English has the hardest sounds and intonation. It might be easy in grammar, but not in pronuciation. It seems to me that English speakers has something special in their throat and tongue. You can get slight non-native accent trying to imitate English speakers, but you will never sound the way they sound.

It would probably help to listen to a lot of foreign films from the U.S. I'm from the U.S. and a lot of my friends born outside of the country said that watching American t.v. helped them learn the language, slang, as well as pick up the specific accent.
Good Luck!
