The Founding Fathers said it themselves that the country is run by the citizens via vote.

Well American citizens want secure borders and immigration law enforcement to the fullest and it does not seem to be happening. Why is that?

Sure we got the ICE raids and law enforcement here and there but that does not seem to be enough.

I'd like to know that myself. I bet if they put this issue to a vote we could dispence with all these plans they are mindlessly working at and get to a conclusion. I'm getting the impression they really don't want our thoughts on anything anymore. They seem to be intent to do whatever they want to do inspite of what "we the People" want.

The founding fathers set up as a republic, NOT a democracy. In short the democracy requires 100% participation in the election process, a thing that has never happened.
The republic allows 'we the people' to choose certain individuals to represent us in the legislative process.

The problem comes in when you add human greed to the mix, as evidenced by our corrupt congress/senate/various state legislators. 'We the people' are now the many ruled by the few for the benefit of the few.

In 1962, Nikita Kruschev while pounding with his shoe on the podium at the U.N. said, "We will bury you." They have done it. Socialism has taken over the U.S. government.
We still have the opportunity to reclaim our government, but we will have to remove those currently in office and strictly limit terms and re-electability for the replacements and their families.
I suggest an elected legislative branch and _hire_ the president, making sure the presidential applicant has at least 15 years experience in running a successful large corporation.

Thats not what they said and certainly not what they meant. But I think, based on what many of them wrote, they would be appalled at the way immigration issues are handled in this country today. The civility, prosperity and security of this nation is threatened and human dignity crushed by the weight of corporate greed and bad governance.

there will be a march on JUNE 14-16 and will be Nationwide, called March For America. Instead of complaining, we need to do what they are doing and March to be heard. This is for all people wanting immigrants to come here legally and learn our constitution and our language. Hope to see you there. We need to make a stand.

Because most of the 'political' officials run their own business (on the side) and they employ nothing but illegals. If they were to listen to what the voters wanted, they'd have to deport their employees, hire Americans and pay higher wages - they just wouldn't have the higher profits like they have now. So, they'd be 'shooting themselves in the foot' if they listened to the American voters.
If our 'forefathers' knew about this - they'd all come back and hang every one of the 'dishonest/crooked jerks'.

Because the majority of Americans cant be bothered to go out and vote. if the people would get involved educate themselfs about the issues and vote, and contact their elected officals then things would change. but most people would rather just complain rather then actully do anything about it.

Because only half the country, at best, votes. "We the People" also have a responsibility to know where the politicians stand on issues before we hit the vote button.

First you must think about who really runs the country, for now its big business. Next those in Washington want votes, and votes are more important then we are. I don't think our founding fathers had in mind, those serving in Washington to have life long jobs, if we had term limits, it might fix that problem, they would not have to worry about votes.

Political correctness and spineless Congress. They want the votes that these millions of illegals will bring and don't give a crap about what Americans want.
