I wonder if you've been wearing a neck chain of some sort & it's a reaction to the metal? I think all you can do is wash it using a gentle skin scrub.

I get this sometimes, with me it goes away if I exfoliate, so could just be dry skin or something like that with you. Give that a go. Get some good facial scrubs and try that. Nothing too abrasive though. I wouldn't try anything on your neck that's meant for your legs or anything as they could cause irritation, so that's why I would recommend a facial scrub. That's what I use.

its either from wearing a chain around your neck that you're allergic to, or thats not real silver/gold.

or.

the only other thing i can think of, is some disease my friend has that made it look like that on her neck. so if its not from a chain or something, check it out with the doctor. [insilin resistant or something]

It is possible you are extra sensitive to ultra violet light from the sun, (causing sun tanning) you could try using a high numbered sun block cream. Hope this works for you and good luck.

Are you sure it might not be ingrained dirt? If so, exfoliating the neck every day should do the trick.
If its just your pigmentation, there is nothing that can be done.

my son suffers with this problem, sometimes on his neck and other times behind his ears. it isnt dirt as i have tried scrubbing it and it just wont come off, however it eventually fades away on its own. one of my neighbours told me that it was something that a lot of people with a tanned complexion suffer with.

its dry, dead skin, we all get that, try exfoliating with a body scrub and scrunchy in the bath, though don't rub till you're sore, regular moisurising helps too
