You can have dry (low to no residual sugars) red and white wine.

However, I think white wines are easier to drink than red wines, but I wouldn't say it's due to sweetness.

White wines typically have lower amounts of tannins than red which in the long run means white wines are easier to drink.

Some sweet white wines, listed by sweetest first, Muscat Canelli, White Zinfandel, Johannisburg Riesling and Gewürztraminer.

Also, look for wines that are late harvest wines where the grapes are given the time to develop as much sugar as possible.

Another thing to look for, but may not be as true with modern marketing, is that sweeter wines are usually bottled in thinner, taller bottles while dry wines are in a typical wine bottle with a wide body.

Not generally no, there are dry white wines and sweet ones as there are sweet red and dry ones.

Some sweeter white wines are Gewurtztramiener (pronounced Ge-vertz'-tra-mee-ner), Rieslings, Sauternes (Very sweet and usually expensive), Ice Wine (Also VERY sweet) and Muscat.

A rule of thumb is any dessert wine, red, rose or white, will be sweet.

Some personal favourites are Electra from the Quady Winery in California (they make a number of unique dessert wines and they're all fabulous), Inniskillin produces a decent lower ticket Ice Wine as well as a very good high-end one.

Sweet red wines include Port and some zinfandels

the only wines that "technically" are sweet are sparkling wines, or dessert wines like moscatos and Johannesburg Rieslings.
