Hiya i'm 19 and i've got eczema on my face it is quite bad as there are patches under my eyes and it is very irritating aswell as looks bad. They are just under the bottom eyelids and around the thickness\ length of the eybrow. Ive got a steroid ointment from the Derm and try to moisturize it regularly using vasline etc. but it doesnt seem to help, it went and came back straight away. Its been like this for about 3 weeks now.

Its really getting me down, can anyone help? Could it be anything to do with eye strain?

To: I know what you are going through

I've had eczema for a long time. Vaseline is the worst thing you can use. It clogs the pores and doesnt allow your skin to breathe. Stress is definitely a factor in a breakout of eczema patches. Do not use soaps on your face, or anything abrasive. When cleaning off your face, use a moisturizing cleanser where you can simply wipe it off or hand-cup rinse it off. When I was younger I went through all the hydrocortisone creams ever invented because I had eczema all over. The back of my legs, my neck, my arms, under my eyes.. Oh my.. Anyway, so I ended up finding the BEST prescription medicine that's helped me tremendously..I use Lidex/Fluocinonide. The doctor's say its a skin thinner but I've been using it for about 14 years now and I still have a whole lot of skin :O) .. It really did wonders when I had major flare ups when I was younger. Now I'm able to control my stress level and the flare ups are about every 3 months. When I get stressed, patches of the eczema would show up and I'd just put a little bit of the cream and it would be gone in about 2 days. Definitely something to talk to your doctor about. It's not recommended for the face, but I've put it around my eye area for spot treatments and it's worked. I don't know the long term affect but again, I've been using it on and off for 14 years and I'm perfectly content with it. When it goes away, be sure to use dermatologic creams on your skin (Keri Lotion, Lubriderm, etc.) to maintain the mouisturization of your skin. Don't rub on your skin when washing, it will irritate it. Treat your skin like a baby's bottom; delicate. Hope this helps.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

Best Eczema Treatment?

My son suffers with this condition - he can go for months and be totally clear then he has an outbreak and the only thing we can do is keep out of the bath and have very quick showers and smother the double base type moisturiser on until it clears up.

There can be triggers which start the outbreak off and you have the learn to identify your own. Stress can be a major one or soaps and perfumed bath products etc.

Vaseline (despite what some people think and believe)
is one of the worst things you can ever use. It's Petroleum (in a jelly form)
It dries our your skin and makes it harder not softer.
A simple test of distilled petroleum is baby oil (mineral oil)
take one saltine cracker and place it in 1/4 cup of this.
Take another cracker in 1/4 of water watch the oil cracker.
Not pretty it's hard. The water cracker is soft.

So - do not use any products with this in them.
Use pure an natural items (Arbonne makes pure and natural things)
Friend of mine suffer as well and have really felt better with using their products.

Good luck.

Go to the GP and ask for triamcinolone acetonide cream. I don't think there is any skin problem it can't cure.
