I prefer friendly but sometimes when people ask ridiculous questions like my dog is laying here bleeding to death what do i do? Those I tend to get aggravated with and do sometimes answer a bit on the rude side. If you dont know any better than to take it to a vet in that case you should not have a dog. Silly can be fun if it is a sily question as well. I guess it depends on the question being asked. If it is serious be nice and give a serious response if it is rude then tell them that as well, if it is silly and fun answer accordingly.

It depends. If I was asking a stupid question, like 'my dog's been vomiting for 5 days straight, what should I do?' then I would expect rude answers.

Yes there are plenty of rude and unnecessary people on this board - but that's life and they're best ignored. Often people don't mean to be rude, they just can't contain their incredulity at the unbelievable stupidity of some of the questions on here (I'm not referring to your question by the way)

Of course I'd want my answer friendly and not rude or silly. Most people are serious when they submit a question. They are looking for a genuine answer to their question.

Definitely friendly answers..you can be funny and friendly. If however the question is a ridiculously stupid or rude 1 then they deserve to get bad answers, in fact they dont deserve to get answers.!!

Sometimes the question stipulates they want a serious answer.
But there are those out there that punk, they're asking silly or out-and-out stupid questions -- looking for the silly answers or to provoke the participants. The ones that provoke can be quite nasty and abusive. For the most part, I ignore them.
I like the silly questions, sometimes they are quite creative and it challenges me to come up with creative, silly answers.

Some of the questions are asked "tongue in cheek", and I try to answer in the same vein.
Some of the questions make me angry, and I have chewed out a few, must be the Mom in me!!! Like the #@&*%# who asked, "What do snakes eat? I'm thinking about getting a rattlesnake..."!!!! Carved on his tombstone will be the words, "Hey ya'll, watch this!".
Mostly I try to give informed and compassionate answers. I try to keep in mind that "the only dumb question is the one you do not ask". Some questions seem trivial to someone who has experience with pets, but the answers are not as obvious to someone she doesn't.

I don't really care, as long as it's the truth. Everyone wants a friendly, kind answer but some people are just stupid. For example, when I go to answer a question like "I WANT 2 BREED MI 5 M/O TCUP CHIWAWA, HELP PLZ?", how would you answer it? I know I would be rude about it but I can't help it. Some people are just so stupid, they deserve questions that call them irresponsible. Yes, give me thumbs down, I don't care. It's the truth. People who can't spell, people who want to breed un-healthy dogs (& mutts, puppies, etc.), don't deserve kind answers.

It depends on the question. If someone asks a dumb question that doesn't need to be asked they need to expect rude answers. If they ask a legitimate question then they should get friendly answers.
