I have a friend who keeps callin me this. i have no clue wat it means! help me!

In Mexico, it's used for someone who is annoying, that exaggerates things, it's arrogant, takes things way to seriously... This word has many uses, depending on the context. Usually is an insult, but it can also be use in a "friendly" way, it depends on the type of conversation and the relationship between the people using the word. Sometimes it's substituted by the word sangron (sangrona).

Ok, depends of the tone of voice....

Mamona or mamon = (Coloquial meaning) It can be an insult, if you are acting like an Az z h*le)

or, friendly can be like when you make a joke kind sarcastic you can go and say it.

But if he is your friend take it cool, but if is some-1 who dont like you, yeah, it is not nice statement!

Mamona is used in Spanish -in some countries- to mean someone who is somehow teasing, bothering the other...

I think it's not pleasant, but consider your friend's tone of voice. Maybe isn't his/her intention to offend you.

I'd like to add that its meaning in Spanish is in the www.rae.es, check "mamón" and you would see -even not knowing Spanish- that among some other uses, it says clearly: insult.
