No, vending machines and pop machines dont cause children to gain weight. The kids decide themselves what they want and what they put into their mouths. Honestly, the vending machines are quite convenient when your hungry after school and you have to get to a school activity and your low on time.

The candy machines, yes. Soda, not so much. I went to a small HS where only Jrs and Srs were allowed to have soda during the school day, and that's only if they had a B average or better and only in the study hall. Before and after school anyone could get a soda though. And there was a juice machine for an alternative. Any non-school provided food was strictly banned.

Its depending on how you look at it. Some schools get money from the companies that the school board wouldn't usually have necessarily to give to the schools but these drinks and snacks are also bad for your health. I think they should have junk food in moderation. Maybe once or twice a week but not everyday.

You have vending machines?? Wow, we never had anything like that, personally I think that is a terrible idea, why can't they be filled with healthy things instead

No, I wouldn't go for that. It's too regulatory, and this serves as precedent for other things in the future. I believe that they should not be poking their noses into a matter that the school and the parents should decide on.

I don't think so! I think that's dumb... Let the kids eat, and drink what they want! If they ban those, they'll prob just get more kids sluffing, or late for classes cause they ran to a store to get some snacks!

YES! YES! YES! Get rid of them! Kids should have their breakfast if wanted and lunch. If their parents want to let them have soda or other junk food then let them brown bag it!

Yes, indeed they should, and they should quit serving foods loaded with artificial colors, flavors, chemicals, and preservatives in the lunchroom!
