(If so, why do Christian fundamentalists ask from homosexuals to 'change' themselves and pretend to be straight?)

THAT is an excellent question Mark. One that I really have no answer to. *SOME* christians like to talk out of both sides of their mouth. It's really sad that they are so hell bent on making everyone conform to their beliefs. Why they can't just take care of themselves and let other ADULTS take care of themselves, is a mystery to me.

Oh yeah...there is NO such thing as sin. Sorry...just had to throw that one in there.

It's always a sin to lie, but that's not what's being asked. You aren't pretending to have feelings you don't have. Be honest with yourself and with your spouse about that. BUT, the key point here is. . . just because you have those feelings, doesn't mean you have to act on them. You can still choose to have sex only with your spouse, whether you feel particularly attracted to him/her or not. Marriage is not all about sex- it's about love. As I have said before, God NEVER commands anything which is impossible for you to do. Very hard sometimes, but never impossible.

I don't think they are asking them to "pretend". I have never been in this position, and have no real strong feelings about it, but to a Christian, homosexuality is a sin. Therefore if they want someone to love to return to the fold, they must abstain from their sin. It doesn't mean they must marry a woman - they could be celibate.
Don't shoot me - it's just how it looks to me.

lying is a sin no matter how or when or who you tell one to. And the Bible states that a Lair will not tarry in Gods sight. And Christians ask homosexuals to change because God hate Homosexuals and they can go to the lake of fire and burn up with Satan and his evil ones.

Yes, it is a sin.

I am a Christian & I know that homosexuals can't change themselves, they need to repent to God and Jesus blood cleanses them from the inside out.

Pretending to be straight is a lie, if they are actually crooked.

Yeah, its a sin to lie. And to answer your second question: I don't know why, I feel that we should just let them be whoever they want to be. I'm a Christian myself and I think that it is horrible that Christianity is basically saying that homosexuality itself is a sin. Some people may choose to be gay but it is genetically proven that certain genes may influence your sexuality.

what you need to keep in mind is that God himself sets the standards and laws about what is a sin or not!

Man, including you, when they break these standards have sinned!

God said, "the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life".

Therefore, don't get hung up on what people do. They will always lie, cheat and steal! See about your own life and see if you measure up to God's standards. If you do, the you will live. If you don't...then prepare to spend eternity away from the Lord.

Because they don't believe that you can be born that way and that if you have God on your side you can do anything.....
they think as many people do, you choose to be homosexual.. how absurb..
some people go through life with blinders on, because they can't think outside of the box or their religious belief system.....

You can be born gay. I don't believe it, but let's say you can.

You make the choice to engage in a homosexual act.

If you can't help yourself, that's a disease and requires medical treatment.

Probably yes, it is a sin. That is just what they say, why believe them.
