Doesn't Jesus want me to look good when I enter his Daddy's house? Shouldn't the government understand that as a justifyable tax credit?

Well suprisingly, it's irrevelant about the taxes, the more important question is why would you want a new suit? Your question reminds me that of the one in Luke where the rich guy is in the church saying look at me, look at my splendour, and look at my brand new suit, that actually I got for free cause you're not really worth it. Then there was this begger, who came off the streets, stinking of alcohol, and urine. He hadn't shaved for a while, not had he any decent clothes. He just bowed his head in silence, offering what he has to God, which was everything he had. I wonder which one God appreciated the most.

No I don't think you can. Most churches do not expect people to dress up anymore. We are not there to put on a fashion show for each other. We are there to hear the word of God.

Oh sure. If Rev. Fred Phelps can have a tax-exempt swimming pool (which he called the baptismal), then surely you can justify being well-dressed.

Only if you take the suit off in church and put it on the collection plate. :)
