Well, if you were to say that because of a few, then the whole group is bad, that would make you a bigot, or some form of bigot.
I personally believe there are good and bad examples of every group. Though we often have stereotypes of what each group is or should be. For instance the stereotype is that Christians are all loud-mouth hypocrites. That is far from the truth if you attend many Churches that I've been too. Not that it is not the truth of some Christians, but you cannot apply that as a whole across the board.
Just like not all Muslims, nor the majority, are insane Jihad warriors. The Koran does teach non-violence, and violence as a last resort. So you cannot classify all Muslims as whack-jobs.
I believe that there are more good than bad in any given group. There are many more loving, caring Christians out there than there are loud-mouth hypocrites, but people only see the hypocrites cause they are loud-mouthed.
I came up with a saying once, and it goes not only for Christians, but that is who it is about...
It takes only a few words to say "I am a Christian", but it takes the example of your life to show that you are a Christian.

Everyone is an individual, however many who follow the Abrahamic religions of Christianity and Islam seem to be cookie cutter versions of each other and if not, they will agree with or support the radical few even if only by their silence.

No. Every person is an individual regardless of their religious beliefs.
Some people rationalize violent acts by saying it is their "God's will" when it is in fact their own will. I give people the benefit of the doubt that they are good until they prove otherwise.

I take people on face value without regard to anything else. A person is a person, good-bad or whatever is between both extremes.
