It is on Friday, but that is not because God is supposed to have 'rested' on that day. I'm pretty sure it is because the world is supposed to end on a Friday.

the christian equivilent of Sunday is Sunday.... duh! :)
In Islam, Friday has special status, it's the day where a special prayer is held at mosques.
