My email address is my real first name and last name and I don't wish for some bible crazed fundie that's all bent out of shape emailing me, calling me, or trying to put a hit out on me because they don't don't like what I said.

Did you ever think about that? Apparently the adults have more common sense than the kids do.

Anonymous confrontation is easier to take than direct contact. Irrational belivers/unbelievers are known to pass viruses as part of their martyrdom. Yahoo levels the field, but restricts direct contact for the above reason. Depends of how you've set up your Y! profile, too. You can also edit your original post to address certain people.

Mainly because this is Yahoo Questions and Answers....you ask a question and you get many diverse answers. This is not Yahoo Questions and extended dialogue. If you want to dialogue about a subject, perhaps a chat room would be a better forum for that.

Just because someone's an adult, does not mean that person is mature.

Also, it is a personal preference, allowed by Y!A

You can always write a follow-up question as a response.

Does the word SECURITY mean anything?

I personally would enjoy email discussions but I will not open my real name email address, IM address to complete strangers. If you want to, more power to you. I'm a lot more cautious.

Probably because they do not want to be converted by everyone who doesn't believe like they do

Simply because their opinion is all that counts. Or they cannot defend themselves.
