I haven't been able to get my games to work on it. I think this program is Too hard to use. Too hard to understand. I'm on winxp now. I paid $89.00 at Best Buy for it and I think it was a wasted $89.00! Any Thoughts?

Are the games you are trying to play compatible with Linux? Operating systems are not necessarily cross compatible. Generally you can't take a program designed for Microsoft Windows and run it on Linux (Suse, Red Hat, OSX, etc...) or UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, BSD, etc...) systems. Applications that can run in virtual machines (like Java VM) help with cross system compatibility but most games don't attempt to use this (I'll leave reasons out for this discussion).

"program is Too hard to use" - Linux is not necessarily "too hard" to use but it definitely lacks some of the features you'd find in Microsoft or OSX which tend to focus on end users. Linux is trying to compete for the desktop system but is more accepted at the server system. As a technical person, I'd argue that Linux and UNIX based systems are easier to use than MS Windows, but then I'm not necessarily the typical computer user.

What you might want to do with the Suse Linux operating system is research into setting up a "dual boot" system where you can choose which operating system to boot your system with. If you are only going to play games, check email, view the web, or other simple applications I wouldn't worry too much about doing this.

If you are really motivated, why not check out WINE HQ to impliment the Windows API. I've included two links below, one for WINE HQ, the other for a link to the binaries for WINE HQ on Suse.

Hey there..

Well. The Suse Linux program is actually a open source operating system that is free to copy and share unlike windows where you have to make Gates rich. But the way the programs are used and installed are way different.

The average game is written to run on the Microsoft Windows ntfs platform/operating system.

Suse is a very power full os like Red hat, Os X and etc.
But it takes getting use to for we are so use to have windows that we are struggling with other.

From what I understand is that you like your games... so windows will do just fine.

Umm, I think you missed the point. Linux is an OPERATING SYSTEM, not a program. Maybe you should do a bit of research before buying software. Not many commercial games run on Linux. However, I do think you wasted your money because you can get Linux for free.

However, seeing as how you are unable to read, I suggest you stick with Windows because you'll never learn Linux.

i'm no longer attentive to any undercover agent ware problems with linux. you ought to do a google seek with "undercover agent ware linux" because of the fact the biggest words and spot in case you get any hits indicating which you may placed in something. ClamAV is anti-virus, and that's in particular to examine for windoze viruses in digital mail - no longer needed on your linux digital mail shopper, till you do a great number of forwarding, wherein case you ought to need it to keep away from sending a windoze-person an contaminated report. in case you actual need to place in a single of those application, use google to perceive one in all those application, or circulate to the Suse internet site and spot what's declared there.
