The founders of Exodus, (an ex-gay group) quit the group and went back to their gay lives...

You cannot change the way that God made you...to do so would be blasphemous.

Can you straight people, quit being straight and become gay?

Are you able to turn your sexual orientation off and on so easily?

Get real, these that say they were once homosexual and are no more are kidding themselves to try to fit into the mold that you fundies want them to fit into.

I have been attracted to men as long as I can remember...I was born this way...there is no changing it...and you know what, God loves me the way he made me... you should try loving through God's eyes.

Well done, my son. God knew you before you were born and loved you anyways. The Love of God is what really matters, not the wrath or the fear or the vengance. Blessings on just being yourself.

I'm afraid we bisexuals are part of the problem. :(
You see, most of the world is not on the ends of the Kinsey scale, and people like these Exodus people think that since they are also somewhat attracted to women, even if in a tiny tiny way, their "gayness" is "cured." They think if they meet someone like me, monogamous with a woman for 14 years, that I've "gone gay" since the previous was a guy.... um... no. Gender isn't involved in who *I* love.

If you're a hard 6 or a hard 0, nothing will change you. If you are a 1-5, you *can* choose to act on the feelings your society allows you to, but you're not choosing to be straight, you're choosing to ignore what you are....

But what am I saying? I'm a hard 3. Picking boys over girls when I was single was like picking air over water... can't live without either.

It's really sad. You see, these people they think that it's gay and straight and nothing inbetween, so they think that if they manage to have sex with a woman they are "cured."

Those women are the real victims of exgay movements.

Excellent points. It is like trying to go from being right-handed or left-handed. Or, try changing the colour of your eyes (without using coloured contact lenses.)

The truth is that people are born the way they are, but many religious people use their differences as a means of justifying discrimination and spreading intolerance -- instead of this wonderful love that we sometimes hear about.

If in doubt, look at the statements of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. Does that sound like love?

Applause for your question and comments. Don't let anyone's opinion of you matter more than your own. In spite of the diehard bigots, the world is slowly coming around to understanding and acceptance.

P.S. The bible refers to women dressing in mannish clothing (jeans or slacks, for example) -- anything at all but long, modest clothing (according to the most reliable translation) as a damnable abomination. Exact same word that's used to condemn gays: abomination. The OT teachings need to be reviewed by religious groups in the context of "that was the custom then, but is no longer valid." Archaic, ritualistic rules need to be taken in context of the times and not applied to this culture. But bigots will cling to righteous bigotry as long as they can.

You are right.

People DO NOT choose their sexual orientation.

Any persons "love life" is personal and private.
People do not invite others into that part of their life, nor into their bedrooms. It has nothing to do with how we pick our friends, decide whether a person is qualified for a job, or any of the day to day interactions with people.

It is not ours to judge who is loved by God.

God Love and Bless you.

Edit:
I do question in my mind when one believes they are "bi", I believe they know their orientation and are either experimenting or attempting to be something they are not.

I have no idea if a god made you. But I do know that trying to change a sexual orientation is really, really silly.

and the question is??? I agree with what you're saying, but I'm afraid all you're going to get is a lot of claptrap about the bible and finding Jesus and stuff.

Thanks you! I'm not a Christian but I agree, I liked men as long as I can remember and this can't change.

We can try and hide it - but we can never actually be someone other than who we really are.
