A sweater without sleeves becomes a vest. A bicycle lacking a wheel is a broken bicycle.

The sweater without sleeves at least partially works. The bicycle without a wheel is broken, cannot be ridden, and is currently useless. (Unless you count scrap metal as a use.)

bi = two

it is a unicycle
uni = one
