I had an agency electronically sent in my tax. I'm a depedent.

Anways, i came back a week later to do my Rent Credit. And the lady there said that i will approxit get xx.xx back. So i have to send this by mail.

Well, a day after i send the forms, i realize that i shouldn't get xxx.xx back becuase i'm a depedent ( on my mother). But the lady that help me do my rent credit never ask me anything so im assuming that she knows what she is doing becuase she looked at my incometax return already prior to doing thiss.

Am i'm suppose to get xxx back even though i'm a dependent?

What do i need to do?

NOTE: I ask for the refund to be direcectly deposit into my bnk accnt.

You can still get refunds even if you are a dependent, especially if you are a student. You should have a copy, she should have marked "yes" to the question of whether or not someone else can claim you as a dependent on their return (ie your mom).

If you still have probs, you can send a modified return. If you are still confused, talk to a tax professional.

Call the person who did your rent credit forms. Since that's a state program and you don't say what state you're in, then nobody here can tell you whether or not you're eligible. The person who filled out the form should be able to tell you how to proceed from here. She might have done it right and you might be eligible, or she might just not have noticed that you're a dependent.
