My nose is running and I cant stop sneezing. I have a sinus infection too! I went swimming for an hour yesterday night after working out in the weight room at my school. I got in the pool and felt fine. About ten minutes after I got out and dressed, I had a stuffy nose but I didi't think about it. I woke up this monrning with a clogged nose and my throat hurts really bad. Before this I was perfectly healthy, and it started immediately after swimming. Could I be allergic to the chlorine in the pool?

Please help. I feel like crap.

I took a really good shower and I drank green tea when I got home.

I dont understand what could have hit me this quick this hard. It makes no sense. I am a very clean person(wash my hands all the time, shower every day, etc) so it makes no sense to me.
Thanks for your answers

You could have picked up an infection, but it is unlikely it would have come on so quickly after swimming. I think you may well have been allergic to something in the pool. If you're not normally allergic to chlorine, though, it could be to do with something else they've added to the water.

See your doctor for advice on this - it needs to be checked out. If you are having a mild anaphylactic reaction, you need to get medical help and ensure you don't place yourself in further danger.

I agree with the person who said this," More than likely you have picked up a bacterial infection from the pool water. See a doctor to get some medication". In the past, I always try to educate people around me that it is very important to take a good shower and shampoo your hair after went to swim. The beach is the worst. Make sure you are not just rinse yourself good. You have to scrub yourself well.

ADDITION DETAILS FOR YOU:

I saw your addition details: and here is the other thing I could think of is, you might have ear infection. You might have to go to A doctor for antibiotic or check out, if you do not get better. If you don't have insurance or money, maybe go to the "Health department" in your town. Look in your phone book. You might have to pay for medication after you got that prescription from the doctor. Hope you feel better and come back to tell us what really happened afterward -OK

You could indeed be reacting to the chlorine in the pool- especially if there was a lot of it. Or you could have picked up a cold in the weight room.

In either case, try drinking hot drinks: The liquid will help you, and the steam will help with your nose. Gargle salt water to help with your throat, use zinc lozenges, and take extra vitamin C: That'll help you feel better at least!

Also, eat chicken soup and consider getting hot spicy foods: There is something about onions, garlic, and hot peppers that cold germs don't like.

Feel better!

The pool was probably filthy and while you were swimming some of the water got inside your mouth or up your nose or something like that and then you got sick. Not too uncommon. Drink lots of water (clean water) and sleep.
