Probably, however I suggest not standing behind it on the way up or in front on the way down. Don't do this anyway because it is against regulations in most buildings. For example, in a local mall, a sign reads, "No strollers or Cows allowed on Escalator."
Also,I heard ( I mean, "herd") that cowalators are in the making:)

Assuming the barriers are wide enough, and the cow is placid enough not to freak out, then probably.

Yes i believe they can,seen my mother in law often using them in the shopping centres,did you know that pigs can do parachute jumps,also seen that with my own eyes when my husband did it,hehe
