Well......its hard to say,do you want to tone them? Build muscle? If you want toned legs,do exercises, with less weight, more repitions,if you want more muscle,do less reps with more weight,of course, always consult a professional, its very easy to get carried away, with lifting,to better ones appearance. Very easy to get injured, as for toned abs,go for the crunches, stay away from high fat, high sugar foods( when possible). And a daily diet helps muscle,(protein too),and you'll do just fine.

Consult your physician before trying any of these, but walking, jogging, taking the stairs, rollerskating/ blading, riding a bike are a quick few to start off. Also try squats - stand upright with your feet shoulder width apart- sit back like you are sitting in a chair and go down until you are sitting and come back up - for added benefit raise or extend your leg off to the side and back in before the next squat. Another is on the ground, on your back - with your legs extended in front of you and off the ground, move them in an up and down motion, alternating. Also try moving them in a bicycle motion. Move your legs in a scissor motion, crossing them one over the other for more benefit. Bring your knees to your chest and then extend them back. Lean towards one side or bring your legs to one side for increased benefit to shapen your waistline
