Morals and princples? Have you ever argued to the death and then found out later you were wrong. Who hasn't? Sometimes an apology just does not correct the fact we were an ill informed stubborn fool. Great to try to be fair and to have morals and principles; but one must also have temperance. There is always another side to everything in life..... and time and life does change one and things to a different perspective; so tread softly

I have what I call "core beliefs" and I never compromise them. As far as arguing goes, that depends. If I am in a political debate with an opponent I can be deadly. But if I am arguing with a loved one or friend, I try to be more accommodating. If they are wrong about something important, it is much better to ask them questions that will point them towards the correct answer and let them lead themselves to that conclusion rather than try to force your opinion on them.

My boss didn't like one of my subordinates and wanted me to fire him. When I told him I had no basis to do so, he told me to fabricate incidents that I could use to railroad him out. (He was a young father of 2). I refused to do this and my boss fired me instead.
On another occassion, I chose to resign from a company, rather than fudge the numbers to make top management look good. There's a lot of opportunity to do wrong in business. Unfortunately, most people are shackled to their jobs by mortgages, bills and so forth and they have to compromise their integrity, rather than making a stand on their principles.

This united states of america is merely too different to anticipate each and each individual to stick to a rigid or simplistic concept of what's ethical and what's immoral. human beings's values conflict too generally that debates approximately morality merely sound like self-righteous human beings going at it in a pissing contest. each little thing turns into relegated to rhetoric. we don't merely want "ethical" leaders. we want sensible place fashions who talk for themselves, no longer for their party. i'd like to work out a campaign that focused one hundred% on new ideas extremely than attempting to convince every person how terrible the opponent is. If no longer the rest, Bush seems to do talk even if's on his suggestions, no count if out of genuine assertiveness or mere cluelessness. yet a minimum of it gave multiple individuals a clean sense that our chief is genuine. Our government officers unquestionably need us to have self belief that we've sturdy ethical leaders in our government. this is because of this that we would under no circumstances understand no count if or no longer they actually are or no longer. they have made a life out of growing to be it look that way. All we are in a position to do is pay attention to their coverage ideas and tutor ourselves as to in the event that they sound possible and effective and vote to that end.

To be open to other peoples views and opinions and try to see things from their side as well as my own. Perhaps very similar to yourself only without the argument!

There's nothing wrong with it. But sometimes we need to be realistic and practical about our real objective.
