I
preached about the “Authority in the Church”.
Jesus gave a ministry unto the church to pastor the body, because we can’t pastor ourselves. When we get saved, we have to submit ourselves to the ministry. You can’t just submit to Christ, and not His Body.
Mt 7:29
People in Jesus' time were used to reasoning about the scriptures, much like a lot of people do today. They like to pick their favorite preacher, one who agrees with their opinion, pets them, and is always kind to them. Actually our favorite preacher should be the one, that doesn’t understand us.
Jesus taught with authority and he is able to give authority to others. Those chosen people are supposed to teach, preach or sing with authority. If you are not sure what you do or don’t know if you’re able to, you should just not do it.
1Co 12:28
Jesus gave gifts to the church, a government, where He sets the members. He doesn’t ask you or anybody, He just puts the members, as it pleases Him and we have to be obedient,

Would you think that church was the true church or something else?

to Lowel R- what do you mean by " Ministry is not the same as preaching"

2007-04-13 01:24:23 · update #2

Mt 22:13; Mt 16:18-19; Mt 18:18
The Lord gave authority to the ministry in the church to bind and to loose things. They’re not just able to put judgement on cigarettes, alcohol or rap music, but they have the authority to tell you in your experience what you really have and what not. (John 20:23) This is a side that is peculiar for the Church of God. The ministers recognize, if someone is out of order and have to put it in order and the church is supposed to support that. They have the key, which is the spirit and the word, and they are not going against the key.
Through this power, that God has given them, there’s a lot of security for the church, thank God for this precious place.

I just added more of the message that was preached. I didn't realize that part of it was missing.

In respose to your additional details:

1) "The Lord gave authority to the ministry in the church to bind and to loose things. They’re not just able to put judgement on cigarettes, alcohol or rap music, but they have the authority to tell you in your experience what you really have and what not." INCORRECT. Jesus gave the Apostles the authority to "bind and to loose." He never implied it was to be given to ministers, bishops, elders, etc. As a result, we have no authority to tell someone they are (or are not) forgiven of their sins, or whether they will (or will not) die in their sins. After the death of the last Apostle (John) in approximately 100 AD, this power was gone.

2) "This is a side that is peculiar for the Church of God." INCORRECT. The Roman Catholic Church also follows this principle. It believes this ability to "bind and loose" was passed down from Peter (the supposed first Pope) to all other Popes and, to a certain extent, to the Catholic priesthood.

3) "The ministers recognize, if someone is out of order and have to put it in order and the church is supposed to support that. They have the key, which is the spirit and the word, and they are not going against the key." INCORRECT. Jesus gave PETER the key (i.e. the symbol of leadership in His absence). There is no Scriptural support whatsoever that Jesus intended this "binding and loosing" leadership to extend to the ministry today. Paul's letters to Timothy give us the final word on how a pastor, elder, deacon (or deaconess) is to behave and what their powers are -- and aren't. NEVER did Paul state they each had a "key" to "bind or loose." The furthest Paul ever went in that direction was to encourage apostates and unrepentent sinners be expelled from congregations. Paul never stated pastors, elders, etc. were to "bind" that person's sins in Heaven.

If this was my Church, it would be the last time they'd see me and my kids.

Write this down one hundred times .
"Come let us reason together"
Seeds cannot be commanded to grow can they.
You are correct Jesus did teach with authority. He was the author, however He did it in consideration of the other persons thoughts and gave them reason to consider their ideology.
May I suggest Ministry is not the same as preaching.....My point is you have exhibited a very confrontational message which is similar to ordering a seed to grow and I am suggesting you will have better success watering cultivating the weeds away and fertilizing dependent upon each part of the seedlings or young plants or the branch ready to set fruit. Please look at the many 1 on 1 conversations of The Christ and how conversation leads into instruction. You began with a scripture that calls for submission to God and others So by submitting to others you place them above you and LIFT them up

In the Ministry there is no favorite Preachers, Yes there is a higher calling in each ministry. Eph. 4:11-17, But when God instilles into a man a calling of the ministry, then each Minister has something to say, seeing that it is God that Sent them. No I don't fall for these so called Preachers, that preachers money, That is an abomination in the eyes of God.

The preacher who preach Authority in the church is not given to preaching doctrine of Jesus Christ. The oastor of the church is given the task of feeding the flock. The decons are given the task of setting the church on its path, the decons are to oversee the whole operations of the building, Jesus is head of the church. Not the building. We are the church. This is what Jesus is head of. Once we are saved we are suppose to keep Jesus 1st in our lives.

Yes. I consider the common sense of your query that if a preacher quite preaches from God, the message should not be contradictory. Maybe we proportion the equal revel in and trouble. I, too, get annoyed and downhearted whilst I understand "some thing malicious or unGodly" approximately a preacher's realistic software of the verses. Be cautious and be very discerning. Nowadays, many even use the Bible for egocentric functions. May those "preachers" come to the conviction in James three:one million "Not a lot of you will have to presume to be academics, my brothers, on account that you understand that we who train might be JUDGED MORE STRICTLY." Preachers can have heavier judgment (than an natural non-preaching citizen) in the event that they intentionally sin by way of utilizing God's Holy Word for his or her egocentric intentions. They have the heaviest responsibility in anything affect they incur on the ones souls who permit and entrust their lives on the ones misleading teachings. Some church buildings hotel from the functional loving grace of God to the extra strict guilt-stirring verses to get by way of their schedule from the congregation (generally individuals who desire to make well trade). To hinder being deceived, constantly return to the fundamentals that the Old Testament Law had already been handed by way of the Loving Grace of God by way of Jesus Christ within the New Testament. Be constantly prayerfully discerning in selecting which church to belong to, which church management to post to and which church fellowship to hold on your and the following generations. God bless.

1Cor 12:27 - 31 Jesus gave the church a lot more gifts than singing, preaching and teaching. In my understanding the full gospel should be preached and all gifts listed in the bible should be encouraged.

I would say that's the way it's supposed to be

Christ is the head.....
The undersheppards are the pastors & deacons.....

God is ultimately the one who puts people in authority

Remember what Jesus said to the procurator at His trial?
"You would have no authority unless it was granted to you by God"

Wether we like someone or not, God puts them where they are.....and this goes for presidents, congressmen, etc.....

I think they are trying to control you, rather than teach you scriptures and let you decide for yourself. No human has the authority to judge you. That's Jesus' job....I just sent you an email. xo Anna
