I'm Irish & 35. I certainly went many times to the circus as a child & saw animals performing. We considered this normal & never really thought about their conditions.

Now as an adult i would not see animals performing in a circus as acceptable. Something like the Cirque du Soleil is a much better idea & i wouldn't hesitate to go to something like that. This emphasizes the use of humans as performers & does not make use of animals.

All the best with your survey.

you know, I never really thought about what happens in a circus environment, but I Imagine that not all circus's are cruel to their animals, and not all are kind to them either..but why would you mistreat an animal that you rely on to keep your business going? I don't see why the animals should be mistreated...but I could be just naive. I read the story about that young child here that was attacked by a circus dog and the authorities wanted to destroy the dog, but there was an outcry for compassion from the Irish public, because the dog and an elephant in the circus were very close and the elephant was pining for the dog when it was taken away...I think the dog was given a stay of execution, because to be honest, the child could have been teasing or been aggressive to the dog and you can't blame an animal for acting like an animal. and I have also seen the aftermath of when an elephant goes into musk when it is in a circus, they usually just shoot the elephant if it gets too out of hand or looks like it's gonna go on a rampage..( have seen this a few times on tv) I do think that circus animals are the biggest attraction to a circus and if they were mistreated, then the circus should be shut down and heavy fines imposed..they souns like they may need a dedicated animal welfare officer to continuously be checking up on them anyway.
I have to say, that I admire the work you guys do in the ISPCA and DSPCA , it must be horrible sometimes, especially seeing so many lurchers and greyhounds being mutilated by their owners who don't win enough money off them, keep up the good work, you work in one of the most noble of professions

NZ has no bag limits on non-interior reach mammals because of the fact the are pests decrease than the Noxious Animals Act. we are able to shoot as many as we adore. We used to have culler's. human beings employed, by using the government, to shoot deer and goats, epidermis them and pass away the carcase the place they fell. it is because of the fact human beings presented deer and goats to NZ. that's inhabitants administration. Then human beings shot them out of choppers for money with AR-15's and SLR's. This replaced into additionally inhabitants administration. Now human beings hunt them for relaxing and nutrition. that's additionally inhabitants administration. right here in NZ we've duck shooting season the place human beings can grab their shotgun, get a duck licence and shoot ducks. throughout southland you will pay attention gunfire. is this incorrect. Nope. it is inhabitants administration. the only style of searching I also have a concern with is "canned searching" the place they fly in some wealthy asia/american businessman, hand him a rifle and tell him to "shoot that deer over there at the back of the fence" so he can say he's been searching in NZ. yet even with the certainty which you reported searching and thats not searching so i assume i'm high-quality with it as long because it is not a interest hunter leaving total carcases. If damn PETA and animal rights activist's had their way we would not have the skill to seek in any respect. Then each and everything might die from starvation. including our loved Kiwi and different ideal interior reach birds. So i'm fantastically specific that makes me professional-searching and professional-1080 poison (i'm gonna get hell for the 1080 bit even with the undeniable fact that.)
