the monarchies in those days believed that they were the rulers of the world and that all people must respect them and love them and lick their feet etc.etc.

as for your question, it depends on the nature of the 'disloyalty'. if you commit a sin, you are going against God. if you commit the sin deliberatley againt God (you thought and planned and plotted beforehand JUST to go against God) then yes, you have commited a crime against God Himself.

***(answer above me is great!!!)*****

but kings or queens or any 'royal' people are NOT God!!!!
they are just human beings who think that they are above everybody else!!! (not ALL but most!)

personally, i couldnt care less about thier personal lives. its thier buisness and i dont want or need to hear about it. it gets SO DARN TEDIOUS to hear about it every few days.......its really bad with the english monarchs....YAWN......isnt thier anything better to report!?!!?!!?!?

and why did kings hang men in God's name.....im afraid that i dont really know why, but i believe that hanging is wrong and that no one has the right to take anothers life, for whatever reason. only God can decide!

hope my (long) answer has helped you in some way

God bless

no not necessarily, if you kill a newborn baby then you have been disloyal to your king and committed a crime against God, but if you refuse to execute an innocent man and the king tells you to, then youve been disloyal to the king but have not committed a crime against God hehe kinda simple really

If rulers are annoited by god then he has betrayed humanity thoughout history. Hitler, Nero, Bush ( the lesser, the elder was not as bad), Pol pot, Stalin, Jackson, Duvallier, Idi, I could go on and on. Each of these leaders was a crime against humanity.

Certainly. Romans 13:1-7.

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.
This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor."

Charles I believed in the divine right of kings and looked what happened to him. He received a little height adjustment via a sharp axe.

No, because there are no gods. Kings did that because they believed such superstitions.
